Sarangi Foundation

Overview
For this project, I developed the brand identity, social media design, website design, and marketing collaterals for Sarangi Foundation. The visual direction was shaped by the organization’s mission, its Nepalese roots, and its plan to grow as a community-focused non-profit in Canada.

The Challenge
The main challenge was to create a brand that felt true to Sarangi Foundation’s cultural background while still looking professional and modern. The identity needed to connect with the Nepali community, represent the organization’s mission clearly, and work well across print, social media, and web. It also had to feel strong enough for future expansion.
The Solution
I began by studying the visual identity of other Toronto-based non-profits such as CAMH and Scott Mission to understand how organizations in this space present themselves. From there, I created a brand system that balanced tradition and clarity. The logo was inspired by the shape of the Nepalese flag, the Sarangi instrument, and the letter "S" hidden in the negative space. I used red and electric violet as the main colors to reflect Nepal and Canada, while also giving the brand a bold and memorable look. The typography pairing of Rethink Sans and Libre Baskerville helped create a balance between modern and classic.
The Result
The final identity gave Sarangi Foundation a clean and recognizable brand that feels rooted in culture but still professional and adaptable. The system works across website, social media, and marketing materials, giving the organization a stronger visual presence as it continues to grow.
